d. Subscriptions charges/fees
|

The membership year for the purpose of membership fee shall be considered to cover the period from January to December of a particular year.
Membership shall be in arrears on the first day of the January each year.
There shall period of 30 days for renewal of membership based on annual subscription.

The Membership subscriptions Charges/fees for all categories of members shall be determined and published by the Executive Committee of MAI and duly approved by the General Body of MAI.

There shall be an admission fee (additional) of Rs.100/- for all categories of members.

Following shall be the membership subscriptions Charges/ fees for respective members, which can only be, upon recommendation (with full justification) by the Executive Committee, revised by the General Body of MAIatits Annual General Meeting:

e. Privilege of membership

Members shall have the right to have prior and proper information relating to the meetings and other activities of the MAI.

Members shall be allowed to participate in the meetings/seminars/symposiums/workshops/conferences etc. on prescribed norms and fees fixed for the same.

Members as enumerated in ‘c-ii-(2)’ of ‘section 1’ i.e. Life member shall only eligible to be elected to any office of the Association and shall have the right to vote or stand for election.

Members shall have the right to use the library of the MAI free of charge.

Members shall have the rights to attend lectures, seminars, exhibitions, tours and conferences organized by the MAI on submission of prescribed form and fees.

Student members of the Association who subsequently join any museum service shall be automatically eligible for membership mentioned at ‘c-ii-(2) & (3)’ of ‘section 1’ after completing all formalities for the same.

The Institutional and student members of the Association shall have the right to ask for technical help wherever required.

Members as enumerated in ‘c’ of ‘section1’ only (except student members mentioned at ‘c-ii(4)’ of ‘section 1’) shall have the right to get one copy of the Association’s Memorandum, Rules and Regulations and Bye-laws free of charge. They shall also be entitled to receive the Journal and other publications free as decided by the Executive Committee against the membership fee for the year. The student members shall get 50% discount for all types of publications of the Association.

The Annual Report of the Association shall be distributed free of charge to all the members of the MAI through digital mode.

f. Resignation & termination of membership
- Resignation:
Any member may resign at any time by giving written notice to the Secretary, MAI.
- Termination:
Members may be terminated from membership at anytime with or without cause by a majority vote of the members at General Body of MAI upon recommendation of Executive Committee, or automatically at such time as they cease to meet the criteria for membership.
Membership of the MAI may be terminated in the following way:

Any member of the Association shall be eligible to resign from her/his membership in writing to the Secretary, MAI.

In annual general meeting of the Association General Body of MAI, upon recommendation of Executive Committee, may declare forfeiture of the membership of an individual or institutional member that has either repeatedly violated the Rules and Regulations of the Association or has been convicted by any court of law for any criminal or moral offence.

Non-payment of fee/arrears of Membership dues for two consecutive financial years will make the Institutional, Associate and/or student members’ name liable to be removed from the Membership, without any notice;
Upon written request of the Members, there shall be grant of grace period of 10 days for payment of fee/arrears of Membership dues, subject of the approval of the Secretary, MAI.

Absentia/ Non-presence of any Member, in any events/ activities of MAI for consecutive three years, shall be considered/ taken as disinterest in MAI and its activities/wish to discontinue the membership of MAI. Hence, her/his name shall liable to be removed from the Membership of the MAI, automatically, for which no communication shall be made.

No substantial part of the activities of the Member shall be the carrying on or propaganda or otherwise attempting to influence legislation.

The Member shall not participate in or intervene in any political campaign on behalf of any candidate for public office.
